The Times Group will be providing you the study material, comprising of learner course material as well as teacher notes for the volunteer-teachers, designed by the British Council. You are requested to abide by the curriculum, completing one unit per session (of 2-hour duration) in a day. The curriculum is designed to be highly interactive and interesting and therefore, we encourage our volunteers to bring in as much creativity into the classroom as possible.

Yes, it is mandatory. We believe that a training session is essential for volunteer teachers because the curriculum is specifically designed keeping in mind our target segment of learners, and the various effective teaching methodologies designed by the British Council.

We allow it only in exceptional cases. You can communicate the same to us in the first round of telephonic interviews.

Yes, two certificates will be awarded to a volunteer, jointly by the Times Group and the British Council – one for completion of training and the second for successfully delivering the course curriculum.

Usually, we do not encourage volunteers taking leave as it may disrupt the normal flow of Programme. However, a deviation may be allowed under rare/unavoidable circumstances with buddy’s (co-volunteer) support.

No. Teach India focuses on spoken English skills, which requires continuous, regular practice; hence the classes need to be held six days a week, excluding Sunday (weekly off for teaching centers). Accordingly, a volunteer teacher is required to teach on 3 alternate days in a week.
